Amateur Cakes Continued...
62My passion!!
I dream of making cakes...that's pretty bad. I prefer not to eat them, I bake, shape, frost and give them away.
If you like what you see or have an idea for a (clean) cake, let me know and I'll try to make it and post a picture. Have they invented smell-a-vision or in this case computer-scratch and sniff yet because they smell wonderful!
Please be sure and check out my other hub on cakes

Hubby's b-day cake...supposed to be a baseball cap...
Frog and butterfly cookies
Butterflies, last minute project.
Lil' horse
The horse cake was made using the ball 3D pan but only half of it. Then I molded the head, legs, and tail and covered it with yummy chocolate homemade frosting.
Whale...dolphin...shark???
The whale shark thing was also used a half of a 3D ball pan. I rolled fondant for lips and covered the entire thing with fondant. The dark blue water is sparkling food gel.
Cheese anyone?
The mice are made of marshmallow fondant, (really yummy) the poo is royal icing. It wouldn't be right without mouse poo. Where there is a mouse there is always poo.

Good job. The mouse cake is super cute. I made a baseball cap cake and thought you might like some tips for that particular one. Cover a real baseball cap with foil (oiled lightly) and drap rolled fondant on top of it. Cover that with another layer of foil (loosely) and let sit for 3 days. This will dry it and you can pick it up and use it for the bill. Also, on the actual hat part, I cut out triangles and placed them overlapping which gave it a very "Real" effect. I had people actually tell me that they thought it was a real cap sitting on the cake (which was home plate). Good luck and good job!
WOW that is one beautiful Angel cake. You did a wonderful job. Now, how to get it to my house. LOL. Keep up the good work.
Love those too. Great job.
How about an Angel cake. That would be neat to see. I love angels. :)
